I provide individual therapy to adults of all ages through a virtual platform who struggle with a variety of issues including addiction, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Some of my clients have wanted to work on interpersonal problems, phase of life/transitions, and spiritual or philosophical problems.
I engage with my clients through Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These therapies utilize mindfulness to encourage us to be skillful and effective, find meaning in life by identifying values and help us get out of our heads and into our life. I also use various psychodynamic approaches along with DBT and ACT strategies.
I work from a trauma-informed approach. This is not a specific “kind” of therapy. Being trauma-informed means I empower my client. I foster choice, trustworthiness, and safety. It’s a way of being towards my client through awareness of how trauma has impacted them. I work with my clients to identify ways to live their lives meaningfully despite the harmful or troubling experiences they have had.
