I provide individual therapy to adults of all ages in the Chicagoland area who struggle with a variety of mental health problems, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. Some also experience interpersonal problems, phase of life/transitions, and spiritual or philosophical problems.
Many of my clients prefer I engage with them through Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These therapies utilize mindfulness to encourage the client to be skillful and effective, find meaning in their life by identifying values and help the client get out of their heads and into their life. I also use various psychodynamic approaches along with DBT and ACT strategies.
I work from a trauma-informed approach. This is not a specific “kind” of therapy. Being trauma-informed means I empower my client. I foster choice, trustworthiness, and safety. It’s a way of being towards my client through awareness of how trauma has impacted them. I work with my clients to identify ways to live their lives meaningfully despite the harmful or troubling experiences they have had.
